Ask Dow Now! Veto to Send a Message

On March 19th the King County Council voted (6 - 3) to approve Ordinance #2018-0086 which negatively alters 4Culture. 4Culture has posted a letter to the public in response.

This Monday, March 26th and Tuesday March 27th we ask you to contact King County Executive Dow Constantine and his Chief of Staff to ask him to veto Ordinance #2018-0086.

Although the Ordinance is “veto proof” because it was approved by 6 of the 9 Councilmembers, the Executive can send a strong message of disapproval to the Council by vetoing the ordinance. Additionally, he can positively impact the Task Force required by the Council, and he can join us in watching them closely to ensure they don’t alter 4Culture's transparent and public processes.

There are several sample letters posted on our open public group on Facebook where your fellow advocates welcome you to use their posts for inspiration. Don’t feel the need to write a lot, personal yet brief will be appreciated.

Dow Constantine:

kcexec@kingcounty.gov or (206) 263-9600

Chief of Staff, Rachel Smith
rachel.smith@kingcounty.gov or (206) 263-9628

We must stay alert and active. THANK YOU for all you have done and continue to do to advocate 4Culture - OUR cultural service agency in King County!
